September 29 (Tues.) & 30 (Wed.), 2015
Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton Campus
Topic:
How can we effectively enhance the Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) decision framework for nonindigenous species in the Greater Everglades?
Purpose: This technical meeting will identify improvements to the current EDRR decision plans for nonindigenous species in the Greater Everglades region by examining proven EDRR plans and case studies within and outside the Greater Everglades. A panel of speakers will provide background and expertise through presentations and discussion. We seek to develop improvements to the current EDRR decision plans through a discussion of the adaptive management processes that incorporate proven strategies for initial actions, use of the best scientific knowledge, and improves upon the networked-coordination response. This meeting will provide an opportunity for scientists and managers to jointly consider how we can plan and work together to improve our EDRR for the Greater Everglades.
