Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum

Arboretum

While most people value nature, few of us take the time to actually enjoy and connect with our natural environment. The Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum, located on the Jupiter campus of FAU, provides our local community with a unique opportunity to explore that connection. The Arboretum highlights our Florida ecosystems by featuring native trees and shrubs. Pathways wind their way through the landscape, inviting the local community to explore and enjoy this peaceful haven. Benches are scattered throughout, allowing visitors a chance to slow down and take pleasure in a moment of solitude in their otherwise hectic daily lives.

The Arboretum is also a place for learning. Signage throughout the Arboretum identifies the native trees and shrubs, giving both their common and scientific names. Teachers and students retreat to the Arboretum from the traditional classroom setting, adding depth to their learning experience.

The Arboretum is managed by FAU's Center for Environmental Studies in partnership with the administration on the Jupiter Campus.
