Dr. Jessica Dell
Jessica joined the Center for Environmental Studies in 2018 while earning her PhD at FAU. As a research assistant at CES, she enjoys working to build a culture of sustainability and resilience in Florida through community engagement, research, and education. As a wetlands ecologist, she studies the ecosystem resilience of wetlands to maintain carbon storage under the pressures of a changing environment. Following her graduation in 2020, she has continued to enjoy working on a wide variety of projects at CES including:
- Helping coordinate workshops and scientific meetings including the 2018 Public Land Acquisition and Management Partnership Conference (PLAM) and the Water Professionals Program
- Developing educational videos on topics ranging from harmful algal blooms to Everglades restoration
- Researching the availability of natural hazard risk information to homebuyers in the Gulf Coast of Florida
