Getting to know Nathan Crabbe

When did you start at CES and in what capacity?

I started in January 2023 as editor of The Invading Sea (www.theinvadingsea.com), a website with news, commentary and educational content about climate change and other environmental issues affecting Florida. USE PIC:  Headshot

What’s your favorite part of the job?

I enjoy working with writers from across Florida on publishing pieces about the climate impacts affecting the state and potential solutions.

Which CES values do you believe align well with your own values?

The work of CES in research, education and community engagement align well with my values as a journalist. Good journalism is well researched and educates the public, while good journalists engage with the communities that they cover to better understand the challenges they face.

What are the things you’ve done at CES that you’re proudest about?

We have worked to encourage bipartisan dialogue on climate solutions, including through webinars on climate messages that resonate across party lines.

How do your coworkers inspire you?

I’m proud to work with smart people who are dedicated to their jobs and do them with passion and joy.

What’s the best team-building activity you’ve done?

I was glad to be able to attend the 2023 Southeast Florida Climate Leadership Summit in Miami Beach with many of my colleagues.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I would love to travel to Italy, visiting Sicily to see where my mother’s family originated from as well as seeing all the great cultural and historic sites in Rome, Venice and other parts of the country.
