Outline

Harmful algal blooms (HABs) threaten the health of people, animals, and aquatic ecosystems. Toxins produced by HABs can have minor to life-threatening health effects and the increased costs associated with HABs may be in the billions of dollars. HABs can also be detrimental to aquatic ecosystems. This video explores the impacts of HABs and provides examples of HABs in Florida.
