  • Linking this management decision process to scientific and technical information generated at the previous workshops.
  • Defining need for both concrete management recommendations and identification of information gaps
  • Linking conference process to adaptive management strategies familiar to participants

First breakout session—Facilitator Perran Ross

  • Each group encouraged to choose one objective among several possible and explain in plenary report why this is the right one.

  • Flip charts to visualize for whole group
  • Discussion to align and harmonize proposed actions

Third breakout session—Refine and redraft actions and add knowledge gaps

  • Ensuring that actions are specific, measurable, time-defined and amenable to adaptive analysis and modification. (This includes filling information gaps.)
  • Testing actions against adaptive criteria—feasibility, cost, practicality
  • Engaging practical manager/management considerations

Begin Group Reports—20 minutes per group. 

  • Present visuals (flipchart ) and written document for workshop record
