2017 Janke Funded Projects

The funded projects for 2017 were:

• Yufei Tang, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in FAU's Department of Computer & Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will receive $50,000 for “Optimized Integration of Hydrokinetic Energy for Remote, Networked, and Resilient Microgrids.”
• Meagan Weisner, a Ph.D. graduate student, and co-advisor Tara Root, Ph.D., both in FAU’s Department of Geosciences, will receive $5,000 for “Examining the Relationships between Socioeconomic Deprivation and Drinking Water Quality: Identifying Inequities in Palm Beach County, FL.”  
• Marianne Porter, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in FAU’s Department of Biological Sciences, will receive $5,000 for “To build an invasive predator: Exploring the mechanical role of lionfish spines on defense and locomotion.”
