Program Locations

The Florida Center for Environmental Studies acts as a facilitator and coordinator of research and training related to the environment and as a locus for environmental information. Below are some of the key sites and program locations where CES operates:

The Florida Center for Environmental Studies’ (CES) main offices are located on Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus and nestled within the 2000-acre landscape of the Abacoa Community in Jupiter, Florida. CES is a leader in Climate Change issues in Florida focusing on adaptation and mitigation issues. CES manages environmental education programs focusing on Renewable Energy and our precious water resources in southern Florida.
The Riverwoods Field Laboratory (RFL) is located on a remnant section of the Kissimmee River and is jointly managed by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and the Florida Center for Environmental Studies (CES). Riverwoods's main objective is to support research and educational activities related to the restoration of the Kissimmee River and greater Everglades watershed.
The Florida Center for Environmental Studies (CES), in cooperation with SFWMD, has developed a field-based, interactive Education Program at DuPuis Visitors’ Center that targets secondary students, teachers, adults, families and the local community. Community outreach events and lectures are held at the Visitors’ Center located at Gate 5.
