A major emphasis of the center is to provide information - both scientific research and access to other sources of information. CES has developed and maintains a number of internet sites and information services capabilities, including web site development, internet based conference registration and management, database-to-web and e-commerce applications, and CD-ROM development. We stand ready to assist others to make information available to the entire world for the betterment of local communities, regions, and nations.
One of the first and primary missions of the center is the management, collection and dissemination of information. CES maintains six web sites (three partially or completely multi-lingual) and has developed other sites and applications ranging from search engines to publication ordering mechanisms and hydrologic model displays. The CES information services staff has over 30 years experience in information systems design, programming, and management. The Center was created to identify research opportunities, involve all of the state universities, and coordinate activities between them. Consequently, as part of the state university system, CES has access to hundreds of highly qualified faculty and staff members. CES has the capacity, expertise, and resources to successfully complete demanding information services projects.
